(FootballStL) -- Rams Head Coach Jeff Fisher made the announcement this afternoon that everyone was expecting. Sam Bradford is officially out for the season after tearing the ACL in his left knee in the Rams loss to Carolina on Sunday.
"It's a very difficult day for us, especially for him" said Fisher. " He was playing very, very well not only yesterday, but was improving weekly with the group around him."
Fisher said in his press conference that the Rams will not trade for a quarterback, and that backup Kellen Clemens will start in Bradford's place. "We will move forward", said Fisher. "Kellen is obviously the only other quarterback on our roster at this point. He will start this week. Sam's going to remain part of what we're doing and he's going to become Kellen's support system."
With Bradford gone for the season, and a tough Seattle team coming to the Dome on Monday night, the Rams are looking to their head coach for some positive words. "There's a book written in the 90's -by I think the author's name was Willie Jolley. The title is "A Setback is A Setup For Your Comeback." So that's what we're doing to do. Our comeback's already in place."
