(KMOV) -- The 'Pop Tart Bill' has passed in the Missouri Senate.
The new legislation would protect Missouri students from being punished for making gestures resembling a gun as long as it doesn't disrupt a classroom or pose a real threat.
The next step for the bill will be in the Missouri House.
The bill stems from an incident in Maryland where a 7-year-old shaped his pop tart into a gun.
