(KMOV) -- Every year, law enforcement officers across Missouri sell t-shirts to benefit the Special Olympics. This year, officers are offering to send t-shirts you buy to members of the military.
"It's a way to remind an active duty soldier that they're appreciated," said U.S. Postal Inspector Dan Taylor. "You're doing two good things at one time."
Local officers just launched this Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/ShirtsForSoldiers/info
Donations can be mailed to: Shirts for Soldiers, c/o Overland Police Department, 2410 Goodale, Overland, Missouri 63114.
Short sleeve t-shirts are $10 and long sleeve shirts can be purchased for $15.
Later this month, officers kick off their Special Olympics Torch Run. Officers across the state run relays ahead of the Summer Special Olympic Games in Columbia, Missouri. The games are played May 29th through June 1st.
