(KMOV) – The speed limit along Forest Park Avenue was lowered to 30 mph and St. Louis police officers are paying extra attention to this area and those who drive along it.

News 4 first reported about the speeding problem earlier in 2013 when the city reduced the speed limit from 35 to 30 but police say speeding is still an issue.

Drivers along Forest Park Avenue at Euclid and Grand say the limit needs to be increased again.

“I got pulled over once, he didn’t give me a ticket but he had a whole line of people pulled over all day. That street’s a little busy for 30 mph, it ought to be 35-40 speed limit there.”

The City Streets Department told News 4  that since reducing the speed limit, the number of accidents in that area have decreased.
