(KMOV) – Authorities closed Interstate 70 in St. Louis following a report of a drive-by shooting investigation Tuesday afternoon.
According to officials, eastbound I-70 from Grand Avenue to 10th Street was closed around 2 p.m as officers conducted an investigation relative to a shooting at that location. The interstate was reopened nearly two hours later.
A spokesperson with the St. Louis Police Department said a male victim, 26, was traveling with three other adults and a baby eastbound on I-70 when they were allegedly shot at from a suspect in another moving car.
Authorities say the suspect’s vehicle contained at least two people.
The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the neck as the suspects opened fire in the area of Cass Avenue and North 13th Street.
Police say the victim then traveled to the area of Cass and 10th Street and contacted authorities.
Police say the victim was transported to a nearby hospital. He is stable at this time. The infant suffered minor abrasions but is expected to be okay.
The suspects' vehicle remains at-large at this time.
Eastbound lanes of I-70 were opened shortly before 4 p.m.
