CENTRAL WEST END, Mo. (KMOV) --- City officials are warning restaurant and bar owners to be mindful of the walking paths outside their locations in Central West End.
The city has received several complaints from people who say businesses that offer outdoor dining are taking over the sidewalks with tables and are blocking access.
The St. Louis Streets Director, Todd Waelterman said “They tend to push the pedestrians out of the way and it’s important that we maintain a five-foot path for these pedestrians to be able to go by, pass by these things. So it’s kind of an enforcement issue.”
The streets department says it plans to visit the popular neighborhood later this week to make sure businesses are maintaining a clear path, not blocking foot traffic.
