Man rushed to hospital after truck, train collide in Metro East

(KMOV) – Police say the driver of a truck was rushed to a hospital after his vehicle was hit by a train in the Metro East Saturday evening.

Authorities say a truck and train collided at Staunton Road and Green Hedge Road near Staunton, Ill. around 5:00 p.m.

The victim was airlifted to a hospital in St. Louis in an unknown condition.

Police had no further information.

The investigation is ongoing.

Staunton is located about 35 miles northeast of St. Louis.
