FLORISSANT, Mo. (KMOV) – Police say a teen texting and driving caused an accident involving a bus full of students in Florissant Tuesday afternoon.
According to a spokesman with the Florissant Police Department, a 17-year-old man became distracted while using his cell phone and rear ended a vehicle on the 1000 block of Waterford.
That vehicle, in turn, hit the school bus which was dropping off students for the Ferguson/Florissant School District.
The students on board were not injured but were checked out on scene, by medical personnel as a precaution.
The driver of the middle vehicle did suffer a head laceration and was treated at the scene.
Police issued a citation to the teen driver, charging him with distracted driving.
