O'Fallon man wants answers after four hoses failed within weeks

 (KMOV) – An O’Fallon man said he got hosed after buying a product he saw advertised on television.

Robert Woodworth said a lot of time water and the occasional visit from a lawn service helped him maintain the greenest, fullest grass on his street.

When he saw an ad last winter for the “FlexAble Hose” which he believed would make his work a lot easier. It advertises its ability to expand and contract all by itself.

Woodworth was a fan so he bought four hoses at $160. The hose worked great

"It's great when it shrinks up, it really is,” said Woodworth. “I used 'em for about a week and the first one broke.  Then used another one a week, it broke. Then used another one two weeks, it broke  and the other one broke soon after that; it broke."

By “broke” Woodworth means, the hoses sprung leaks.  He said they blew up.

Woodworth called the company behind the advertised hose to see what type of refund or replacement he could get.

“First time I called 'em they said they would send me labels to send the hose back.  I never got a label, which was 10-12 weeks ago."

After multiple calls were made and no answers could be given to Woodworth, he called News 4’s Mike Colombo.

It appears Woodworth’s experience is not unique; internet review sites are flooded with similar complaints.

When Consumer Reports did a review, they received a lot of feedback about the hoses “splitting.”
