(KMOV) -- Organization for Action- Missouri and community supporters are set to rally outside of City Hall in downtown St. Louis on Wednesday for a minimum wage increase.

Rally participants are urging congress to follow through on President Obama's lead by passing his executive action to raise the current rate of minimum wage from $7.25 an hour to $10.10 an hour.

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) is analyzing that possibility, but says that raising the minimum wage would mean job losses for some because companies cannot afford to pay more wages.

Workers in the St. Louis area have ralllied in the past for wage increases.

The rally is set to begin at 1 p.m. and last until 2 p.m.
