ST. LOUIS (AP) -- On the map of St. Louis, it's known as the 6500 block of Murdoch Avenue. But every year for the past five, the street is better known as "Candy Cane Lane." And this year was no exception, as residents decorated their homes in red and white lights all this month. To further play up the look, residents wrap the street's trees in candy-cane colored lights -- and volunteers hand out candy canes to people walking through the area. Not only is the display drawing attention, it's also bringing in contributions. Money collected from visitors is given to charity. This year, organizers say they have gotten more than $10,000 -- nearly three times the amount collected last year.
