More than 1,600 homes damaged in Friday's storms

(KMOV) – More than 1,600 homes throughout the St. Louis area were damaged in Friday’s severe thunderstorms.
 
According to the St. Louis County Department of Highways, Traffic and Public works, Maryland Heights suffered the most damage, with 1,041 homes affected. Almost 70 of them were completely destroyed.
 
In Ferguson, 404 homes were torn apart.
 
Bridgeton had 104 homes damaged, while Berkley had 39 and Bellefontaine Neighbors had 26.
 
Four homes in Riverview, Moline Acres, and unincorporated St. Louis County were also touched by the storms.
 
Two-hundred and nineteen properties throughout the St. Louis area will be condemned because the amount of damage is too extensive and irreparable.
