TOWN AND COUNTRY, Mo. -- Maryville University and suburban St. Louis-based Rawlings are teaming up.
The university said Tuesday it is naming its sports business program after the sporting goods company whose headquarters is next to Maryville’s campus in west St. Louis County. The agreement was announced at Busch Stadium.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the agreement for the Rawlings Sport Business Management Program creates the first corporate-named sport business management program in the country.
About 90 students are enrolled in the program at Maryville. The agreement calls for Rawlings to provide scholarships, a paid graduate assistantship and internships.
Maryville students will work with company executives. The university’s sports teams will use the latest Rawlings equipment and uniforms.
