JENNINGS, Missouri (KMOV) -- A driver trying to get away from St. Louis County Police was struck by a school bus in Jennings Wednesday morning.

Police say officers pulled over the driver of a white Chevy Lumina for a traffic violation at Mimika and Lucille around 9 a.m. When the officers got out of their vehicle, the suspect sped off heading the wrong way on Lucille and was struck by a bus at Riverview Boulevard.

One child on the bus suffered minor injuries.  She was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The suspect is currently in custody.
