(KMOV.com) -- Illinois is under a court order to allow conceal and carry in the state but lawmakers and executive leaders are dragging their feet.
Tuesday, voters in Macoupin County easily passed a referendum urging legislators to allow conceal and carry.
Voter turnout was very high, despite the vote not changing any laws. With 75 percent of voters passing the referendum, nearly every county except St Clair and Cook is in favor of conceal carry.
Illinois lawmakers face a deadline in June to make enact legislation on the issue.
