LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) -- Police in Lubbock, Texas, are investigating a teenage runaway’s report that she was abducted, sexually assaulted and held captive in a house for the past six weeks.
The girl told officers she was abducted from Amarillo about two months ago, and on Friday crawled out a window of the Lubbock house where she’d been kept. She fled to a McDonald’s restaurant, where she called police.
Police say they believe her to be credible.
Three men surrendered without incident and were detained for questioning. Their names haven’t been released since they haven’t been arrested.
