(KMOV) – Supporters of same-sex marriage celebrated in West St. Louis Tuesday night following the 5 to 4 Supreme Court vote called DOMA unconstitutional.
The rally was held at the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Center in the Grove Neighborhood.
Supporters say they realize Tuesday’s historic ruling does nothing to change Missouri voter approved constitutional ban on same-sex marriage.
“Either we repeal the marriage amendment passed in 2004 or the court has to overturn all marriage amendments,” rally attendee A.J. Bochelman said.
Gay marriage is now legal in 12 states and Washington D.C. Voters in more than 3-dozen states have banned same-sex marriage.
