(KMOV.com) – A section of a major north St. Louis County road remain closed Wednesday morning due to a water main break.
The break happened around on N. Lindbergh and Utz in Hazelwood around 10 p.m. Tuesday.
All lanes of N. Lindbergh were closed in both directions from Interstate 270 to McDonnell Blvd. as crews worked to fix the break.
By 6:45 a.m., only one soutbound lane of Lindbergh was closed between Fee Fee and Utz. Crews hoped to have the 16-inch main repaired by the evening rush hour.
The Hazelwood Police Department said the water main break caused several traffic backups and warned drivers to avoid using the road if possible.
