(KMOV) – For some area school districts, the late summer heat wave is cheating children out of time in the classroom.

East Alton Wood River High School does not have air-conditioning which then causes school days to be shortened as the temperatures rise.

News 4’s Claire Kellett went to the school to see how staff work to keep the students save and what the hold-up on getting air-conditioning.
