(KMOV) – Laclede Gas is now considering competing offers to move their downtown headquarters.

The City of St. Louis offered $8 million to help move the company to the old Gen America Life building and now Cassidy Turley is proposing a deal to keep Laclede at their current address.

The new offer would lower the company’s rent $1 million, a year.

“It’s good for Laclede, the rate payers; it's good for the city of St. Louis because there is a lot of private investment put back into the building. We’ve got a lot of parking that they wouldn't have at the Gen Am building. That is a city owned garage. A lot of the parking they would use the city would lose some of that revenue from parking as well,” said David Kelpe with Cassidy Turley.

The new proposal also included $7 million in renovations for a new workout facility, new elevators and updates to the building’s lobby.
