(CBS Sports) -- From terrorist threats, to environmental issues, to budgetary concerns to claims of homophobia, the last thing Vladimir Putin needed was anymore bad press ahead of the Olympics.
But BBC's roving investigative reporter Steve Rosenberg (ok, maybe he just had to go to the bathroom) stumbled across this curious ratio of two toilets to one stall on Monday inside the Olympic Biathalon Center in Sochi. The picture, eventually tweeted by Russian chess champion Garry Kasparov, plunged through Twitter.
Perhaps Putin is campaigning for another Olympic sport?
While the double toilets are strange, they aren't nearly as bad as what some journalists have found.
People have asked me what surprised me the most here in Sochi. It's this. Without question ... it's ... THIS. pic.twitter.com/1jj05FNdCP— Greg Wyshynski (@wyshynski) February 4, 2014
Ok, so my hotel doesn't have a lobby yet.— Mark MacKinnon (@markmackinnon) February 4, 2014
My hotel has no water. If restored, the front desk says, "do not use on your face because it contains something very dangerous." #Sochi2014— Stacy St. Clair (@StacyStClair) February 4, 2014
