Baby pulled from car after police chase, crash

VELDA CITY, Mo. (KMOV) – Four people including an baby were injured when a driver lost control of their vehicle while evading police Wednesday night.

Police say officers attempted pulled over a vehicle seen speeding down Kienlen Road around 10 p.m. After pulling over, the driver took off at a high rate of speed. Officers pursued the vehicle for a short time before the driver lost control and crashed. The car came to rest on its roof after flipping during the crash.

A baby was pulled from the wrecked vehicle, still buckled in her car seat. Authorities said the child sustained non life-threatening injuries.  Three adults were taken to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.  All are expected to survive.

The male driver was arrested after receiving treatment at a hospital. Police plan to charge him with endangering the life of a child, driving with a suspended license and eluding police. Police believe the man was on probation and had a warrant for his arrest.
