Homicide detectives investigating double shooting in north St. Louis

(KMOV.com) – The victim as been identified in a shooting in north St. Louis Friday evening. 

Police say the incident occurred in the 4400 block of Ferdinand around 5:30 p.m. 

Officials say Darnell Martin, 41, of the 4600 block of Ferdinand, suffered gunshot wounds to his flank, abdomen, back, and chin. Martin was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead. 

Authorities say a 20-year-old man sustained a graze wound to the chest and was treated at the scene.

A 21-year-old man was uninjured, according to police.

Police say the victims told police they were changing a tire when someone inside a dark Lincoln LS began firing shots at them.

The investigation is ongoing.
