(KMOV.com) – Hazelwood police officers were on campus at Hazelwood West High School Friday morning in response to a request by school officials.
According to a spokesperson for the school, administrators heard rumors Thursday of a student planning to bring a weapon to school.
Officials wanted to be proactive so they set up a plan with officers for Friday morning.
When studends arrived, officers conducted random backpack checks and determined there was no weapon. News 4 is on the scene and will bring you more information as the story develops.
