HAZELWOOD, Mo. (KMOV) – A fire gutteed a Hazelwood apartment building late Wednesday night, leaving two families homeless.

Firefighters reported to a call of an apartment fire at 11 p.m. at 8403 Tally Ho Drive. Crews noticed flames coming from the rear of the building upon arrival.

The fire was extinguished quickly with no reports of injuries at the scene.

Two apartment units were severely damaged, leaving two families displaced. The Red Cross is assisting these residents.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire but it appears to be accidental at this time.

No one was injured but two families are now homeless after a fire gutted an apartment building in the 8400 block of Tally Ho Drive in Hazelwood, police say.

The fire was reported at about 11 p.m. Wednesday. Police officers saw flames coming from the back of the apartment building. Fire crews quickly put out the blaze.

The Red Cross is helping the two families forced for their home.
