(KMOV) –Heavy trucks driving in East St. Louis near the Casino Queen will be at the mercy of city officials.
The mayor told News 4 he wants grain trucks to find another way to the barge facilities along the riverfront or the city will start ticketing them.
“Writing out tickets at this point is not what we are seeking to do. We're looking to resolve the issue how do we get trucks to cargo and to bungee and keep the trucks away from the door of the casino queen,” said Mayor Alvin Parks.
The fines could run as high was $500. The city expects to work out a plan by this week that will have the trucks taking another route to the river.
