(KMOV) – The controversy over the plan to allow students from unaccredited Normandy School District to enroll in the Francis Howell District has escalated on social media.

There are more than 600 comments on the Francis Howell District’s Facebook page some criticizing the plan while others supporting it.

Missouri State Representative Mark Parkinson is calling for a special session to deal with the issue and stop the transfers.

The Francis Howell School District will host a town hall meeting on Thursday July 11 at 6 p.m. in the Central High School gym. The forum will be used to address the questions surrounding the student transfer program involving Normandy students.
