(KMOV.com) -- A former youth pastor for a huge St. Charles church had been charged with possessing child pornography.

Court documents said Raymond Schneider was at some point a youth pastor with access to potentially dozens of kids, but prosecutors don’t believe he victimized any local children.

St. Charles County Prosecutor Tim Lohmar is very concerned about the 150 images of child pornography he said were found on Schneider’s computer.

Investigators tracked Schneider’s IP address right to his front door in O’Fallon, Missouri.

When authorities confronted him, they said he admitted to downloading the pornography and even had children’s underwear in his room.

“I don’t understand it, I don’t,” said Schneider’s neighbor June Walker, “It’s just darkness I guess.”

Neighbors said they were shocked because they believed Schneider seemed nice and even had a son of his own.

According to court documents, Schneider worked as a youth minister in St. Peters. No one returned calls to KMOV from the church.

Lohmar said child pornography users don’t look like a certain person.

“You never know. You don’t have a profile of who these might be,” said Lohmar, “They are just as common as anyone walking down the street.”
