(KMOV) -- A former student is accusing the Cahokia School District of covering up an alleged sexual abuse of a former teacher’s aide.
Mario Hunt was arrested in May accused of sexually abusing a male student and exposing him to HIV.
The suit filed in US District Court said district officials not only didn’t stop the abuse but also attempted to “conceal the abuse by conducting a negligent investigation.”
Cahokia Superintendent Art Ryan denied there was any cover-up telling News 4, “That wasn’t even part of the investigation in the first place.”
The suit is seeking unspecified damages from the district.
