(KMOV) – A former Girl Scouts leader in St. Charles was sentenced after being convicted of stealing funds from her own troop.

Trisha Shelton, 29, pleaded guilty to several counts of theft.

Prosecutors say she forged another person’s signature to write checks to herself, using funds from the troop she was leading.

As part of her plea agreement, Shelton will serve two years probation and pay back more than $500 in restitution.
