(KMOV) – A man who was the focus of a News 4 Investigation is headed to federal prison after pulling off a major rip-off.
Gregory Campbell took advantage of the most vulnerable to fund a lavish lifestyle, a Ladue home, a BMW, and a second home in Boston.
One time Clayton power broker, Campbell is headed to prison for 38 months and was ordered to pay $1.8 million in restitution and his Ladue home will be forfeited.
The Secretary of State said Campbell opened accounts for clients without their authorization, forged signatures, and made unauthorized transfers of more than a million dollars to fund his lifestyle.
Jason Kander told News 4’s Chris Nagus, Cambell tried to cover his tracks. “What he was doing was he would change the address where the statement was going so the statements were no longer going to the clients.”
One of his victims was an 86-year-old woman with Dementia, who lived in an assisted-care facility.
Once Campbell gets out, he will be on supervised release for three years.
