(KMOV.com) – Missouri Highway Patrol responded to a call of a motorist stuck in high water Wednesday.

Authorities believe the driver may have disregarded flood signs and gotten stranded in the high water on Highway W at Twin Rivers Road.

The car was stranded just south of Eureka just inside Jefferson County. The water appears to have come from a large creek that empties into the Meramec River 50 yards away.
