ELLISVILLE, Mo. (AP) -- It appears that a St. Louis County mayor has survived an impeachment effort.
KMOX Radio reports that during a short but contentious meeting on Monday, Ellisville Charter Enforcement Commission members voted to throw out a complaint that Mayor Adam Long had unlawfully ordered an officer to remove a person from a meeting.
The meeting occurred nearly a year ago and involved a debate over tax breaks for a Walmart store in the west St. Louis County town.
Paul says he wants to put the matter behind him. The final say is with the city council, which meets Wednesday.
