(KMOV.com) – Police say an elderly woman shot and killed her son during a domestic dispute at a home in Ballwin Thursday morning.
According to police, officers responded to a domestic abuse call at a home in the 700 block of Clayworth around 1:05 a.m.
Police said upon their arrival, officers discovered 81-year-old Johanna Walker had shot her 41-year-old son, Brian Walker, twice in the chest.
According to police, Johanna told officers that Brian had initially attacked her with a large knife. She said when he came at her a second time, she shot him.
Brian Walker was transported to the hospital, where he died about an hour later.
Police said Johanna suffered a knife wound to the hand and was being treated at the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to police, a large fixed-blade knife and a revolver were seized from the residence.
It was not immediately clear if charges would be filed.
