Missouri, Illinois residents face increase in family physician shortage

(KMOV) – People in Missouri and Illinois are facing a shortage of primary care physicians and it could only get worse in the months ahead.

In our area, the shortage of family doctors stems from a populace that is getting older as patients are less likely to drive more than 30 minutes to get preventative care.

Plus more doctors are seeking out specialties with better pay and hours.
