ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – Dense fog blankets the News 4 viewing area Wednesday morning, causing extreme visibility issues for morning commuters.

The National Weather Center issued a dense fog advisory for the following counties; Calhoun, Crawford, Dent, Franklin, Gasconade, Greene, Jefferson, Jersey, Lincoln, Macoupin, Madison, Monroe, Montgomery, Phelps, Pike, St. Charles, St. Clair, St. Louis, Warren, and Washington counties  

This advisory is in effect until noon Wednesday.

Drivers are urged to use caution during their morning commute as visibility in some areas is less than a quarter mile.
