Man rescued after being swept away by current in Mississippi River

ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – A 20-year-old man was rescued from the Mississippi River after he allegedly went for a swim near downtown St. Louis Tuesday evening.

According to authorities, the man was rescued by a tug boat operator a mile from where he went into the river near Leonor K. Sullivan and Choteau.

The man has been taken to an area hospital for an evaluation.
