Police seek Collinsville purse robbery suspect

COLLINSVILLE (KMOV) The Collinsville Police is searching for a suspect connected to the theft of a purse from an elderly Collinsville woman.

Tiree Fox, 24, is wanted in connection with the theft along with other charges of burglary and forgery.

The theft charges stem from an incident on July 27th in the 100 block of W. Juda. The 75-year-old victim was visiting a friend when she was approached by Fox and a young child. Fox asked if she could use the victim's cell phone because they were stranded. The victim laid her purse down and Fox grabbed the purse and took off running along with the child.

No one was injured.

The other incident stems from an automobile burglary that occurred on July 24th in the 500 block of Norwood. According to police, theft checks were stolen and eventually forged and cashed.

Fox is described as a white female, 24 years of age, 5 foot tall and 112 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair. Anyone with information of Fox's whereabouts is requested to contact the Collinsville Police at 618-344-2131.

Fox is charged with burglary, 2 counts of forgery, and 1 count of theft from person.

Her bond is set at $150,000.
