ARNOLD, Mo. (KMOV) -- Members of the FOX C-6 School District Board of Education accepted the early retirement of Superintendent Dr. Dianne Critchlow and named an interim Superintendent, the board announced Thursday.

The board also terminated her husband, Jamie Critchlow, who had been serving as the Director of Bridges Alternative School.

The announcement comes after a libel lawsuit was filed against Fox C-6 school district officials after several employees allegedly made disparaging comments about parents online. The district announced it had placed four employees on administrative leave last week.

Superintendent Dianne Critchlow, Jamie Critchlow, Assistant Superintendent Dan Baker, and his wife, Federal Programs Director Angie Baker were all placed on leave and had their pay suspended.  There was no announcement made Thursday about the employment status of Dan or Angie Baker.

Dr. Diane Critchlow, who was slated to retire on October 31, 2015 will instead retire October 31, 2014.  She will not perform duties for the district through the date of her retirement.

Critchlow will get a lump-sum payment of $130,299 upon her departure, which is part of a long-standing retirement program that allows an employee to get 50 percent of their previous year's salary.

Last week, attorney Dan Herman said he began to investigate and determined district employees were behind the inappropriate posts. Herman said he traced a majority of comments back to the home of Dianne Critchlow.

“I’m kind of disgusted with the superintendent’s behavior and hoping they resolve this issue soon,” parent Amanda Stevens said last week.

The school board on Wednesday held a closed-door meeting, naming assistant superintendent Tim Crutchly interim superintendent.
