EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KMOV) – An unknown number of cows had to be put down after a cattle truck overturned in East St. Louis on Wednesday.
The truck overturned on westbound I-64 at the 3rd St. exit. Officials said 95 cattle were in the trailer when the wreck happened, but all were still contained.
The driver suffered a hand injury, but refused medical treatment. An unknown number of cows had to be put down, according to officials.
One left lane of I-64 and the exit were shut down as crews worked to clear the scene.
The cause of the wreck was unknown.
