(KMOV) – A Missouri physician who passed nearly $1 million worth of fake checks and money orders is expected to be released from jail soon and be credited for time served.

Dr. Byron Glenn, of Cape Girardeau, pleaded guilty in federal court in August to using fake checks and money orders to the tune of nearly $1 million.

According to court documents, the fraud charges Glenn faced were lessened to misdemeanor charges.

Additionally, as part of his punishment, Glenn will be unable to contact either of the two banks in which he tried to pass counterfeit money.
