ST. LOUIS (KMOV) -- The Better Business Bureau warns families about a company holding a seminar in St. Louis this weekend accused of high pressure tactics to get them to pay thousands for college financial information.

College Admissions Assistance has been given a D-plus rating by the BBB and will be holding a seminar at the Holiday Inn Southwest on Watson, but local college officials say the information is easy to find with the help of school counselors and online.

"Utilizing the high school counselors as an initial connection and they are going to refer you on to the admissions counselors at the institutions," Joe Parisi, Dean of Admissions at Lindenwood University, said.  "Our admissions counselors are trained to hand walk students and parents and families through these scenarios so they do have a full understanding not only that it is free but that we have an opportunity to educate them at the highest level so they can make an educated decision as an end result."
