ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – New tests have shown asbestos on the walls of two downtown buildings as a result from a ruptured steam pipe at 11th and Convention on April 5.

The ruptured steam pipe insulated with asbestos sent the chemical onto cars and nearby buildings.

Crews were working to clean the north wall of Lucas Lofts and the south wall of the Globe Building after news tests showed small amounts of asbestos on Monday night.

Officials hope to have new test results Tuesday afternoon.
