(KMOV) – Ameren Missouri says around 15,000 people were without power after storms blew through the area Wednesday evening.

The utility said customers in Chesterfield, Lemay, Arnold, much of Franklin County, St. Charles County and north St. Louis County were without electricity starting Wednesday night after thunderstorms rolled through the area.

Ameren says crews worked overnight to restore power to customers. Early Thursday morning, less than 6,000 customers remained without power.
