(KMOV) -- Motorists are moving on interstate 44 at Grand after a fiery, fatal crash brought traffic to a stop in both directions Saturday morning.
It happened around 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the eastbound lane near the Grand exit.
A deputy was assisting a motorist when a pick-up truck slammed into the disabled vehicle.
After the initial collision, a semi-truck collided with the pick-up truck causing the truck to catch fire.
Police reported the pick-up truck was engulfed in flames fatally injuring the driver. The driver of the tractor trailer suffered minor injuries. No police officers were injured in the crash.
All eastbound lanes were shutdown until 3 p.m. Accident reconstruction team was on the scene of the accident.
Authorities have not released the identities of those involved.
