(KMOV.com) – A family was charged over $270 for an ambulance service that provided an ice pack, but News 4 has learned that the charges have been waived.
John Femau said his two-year-old girl hit her head at the TSA podium at Lambert Airport’s security check. Fernau said the airport called an ambulance and did not tell the family. Paramedics checked the girl’s blood pressure and gave her an ice pack. Fernau said the family then received a bill for $273 in the mail.
Abbot EMS told News 4 the family was billed the same amount as anyone patient who is not transported. Fernau said he called earlier to dispute the charge but was not successful.
After airing Femau’s story, Abbott EMS has waived the charges.
