(KMOV) -- A St. Charles woman called Colombo after battling one of America’s largest jewelry store over a lifetime warranty.
Zee bought a sterling silver wedding ring for her husband in 2007 and she paid $39.99 for the warrant. “I bought it because your size changes and it’s a good value,” Zee said.
She brought the ring back to the Zales store in the Chesterfield Mall for a needed resizing in October.
"They told us that in order for us to resize it, because of inflation and that the cost of protection plans has increased, that we need to pay more,” she said.
She called a district manager to complain that she was asked to pay more even though she had a lifetime warranty.
The couple thought it was clear as black and white, lifetime means lifetime.
