(KMOV.com) -- A tractor trailer caught fire and exploded on westbound I-64 during the Friday morning commute. The fire erupted in a trailer carrying a hazardous chemical.
The accident near the Jefferson Avenue exit backed up traffic for miles in what was a nightmare of a commute.
Traffic backed up at least 4 miles on I-64, and many people trying to escape the jam turned side roads and other bridges into parking lots.
