(KMOV) – The man at the focus of several News 4 Investigations is now a convicted felon.

On Monday, Harry Halter, also known as “Dink,” pleaded guilty to official misconduct.

Halter was working as a Metro-East police officer when prosecutors charged him, losing his right to carry a gun and his badge. He will also lose his Illinois state pension.

He is the fifth public official from St Clair county convicted of official misconduct in the past year and a half.

Although jail time is unlikely, the Illinois State’s Attorney told News 4 the conviction brings severe consequences so they can no longer hold a position of trust.
