ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Becky, the "Queen of Carpets," continues to be a royal pain for customers waiting for refunds and products weeks after the company closed.

Bank of America recently filed suit against Becky's Carpet and Tile, alleging the company owes more than $4.5 million in defaulted loans, interest and late fees.

Teresa Farrow said she made a thousand dollar down-payment on carpet at a Becky's store in South County on June 5.

"The last time they called us they said they'd try to get our money back, but we haven't heard from them since," Farrow said.

Becky's attorney Steve Goldstein told News 4 the company hired a liquidator to collect its assets and attempt to settle defaulted loans.

"We hope to be in a position to make refunds to customers within days and weeks from now," Goldstein said.

The timeline Goldstein offered may change, however, pending the bank's lawsuit.

Farrow said she was once hopeful for a refund, but said she now feels more defeated.

"We just threw $1,000 away," she said. "My hard-earned money. We have to pay it back."
